Oxygen on Mars

Nei tre anni in cui è rimasto su Marte il rover Curiosity ha studiato la composizione dell'atmosfera marziana: l'ossigeno rappresenta lo 0,16%... tuttavia gli scienziati, analizzando i dati inviati da Curiosity, hanno visto che durante la primavera e l'estate il livello aumenta del 30%, diminuendo poi durante l'inverno. Questi valori sono nettamente superiori ai valori attesi, valori cioé che è possibile spiegare con le variazioni stagionali presenti sul pianeta, e stanno cercando una spiegazine allo strano fenomeno, finora senza successo...

During the three years in which it has been on Mars, the rover Curiosity studied the composition of the Martian atmosphere: oxygen represents 0.16%... however scientists, analyzing the data sent by Curiosity, have realised that during the spring and the summer the level increases by 30%, decreasing then during the winter. These values are absolutely higher than the expected values, values that could be explained with the seasonal variations present on the planet, and are looking for an explanation of the strange phenomenon, so far without success...
