Cubesats to Mars

Virgin Orbit, la spinoff di Virgin Galactric dedicata al progetto low-cost cubesat, sta pianificando di spedire dei minisatelliti, i cubesat appunto, su Marte entro il 2022. I satelliti potrebbero fotografare il suolo marziane, studiare l'atmosfera del pianete o indagare sulla presenza di acqua; potrebbero perfino studiare le lune di Marte o avventurarsi più in là, fino agli asteroidi...
Se riesce, sarà la prima azienda privata a lanciare satelliti su Marte...

Virgin Orbit,  the spin-off of Virgin Galactric dedicated to the low-cost cubesats project, is planning to send minisatellites, i.e. the cubesats, to Mars by 2022. Satellites could photograph the Martian soil, study the atmosphere of the planet or investigate the presence of water; they could even study the moons of Mars or venture further, to the asteroids...
If the project succeeds, it will be the first private company to launch satellites on Mars...
