A Ghost in Space

A volte le immagini che il telescopio spaziale Hubble trova nello spazio possono essere spaventose, come questo teschio che sembra osservarci da una distanza di 704 milioni di anni luce...
In realtà la foto ci mostra due galassie che stanno collidendo una nell'altra, un sistema catalogato come Arp-Madore 2026-424 (AM 2026-424).
E giusto in tempo per Halloween...

In reality, the photo shows us two galaxies that are colliding one into the other, a system catalogued as Arp-Madore 2026-424 (AM 2026-424).
