Medicines from the Sun

I ricercatori della Eindhoven University of Technology hanno creato delle foglie artificiali in grado di sintetizzare... farmaci!
Il progetto, iniziato nel 2016, presenta delle nervature artificiali nelle foglie, entro cui scorrono dei liquidi che, quando attivati dalla luce solare, reagiscono tra di loro per generare medicine; l'energia del sole sostituisce l'energia elettrica e questo permette, in teoria, di produrre farmaci dappertutto.
Per esempio, produrre farmaci anti-malarici nella giungla...

Researchers at the Eindhoven University of Technology have created artificial leaves that can synthesize... drugs!
The project started in 2016, uses artificial veins in the leaves, within which liquids flow that, when activated by sunlight, react with each other to generate medicines; the sun's energy replaces electrical energy and this allows, in theory, to produce drugs everywhere.
For example, produce anti-malarial drugs in the jungle...
