FAST

Cinquecento metri di diametro, cinque anni per costruirlo, più di 100 pulsar rilevate durante la fase di test... questo è FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope - radio telescopio sferico con apertura di cinquecento metri), il radio telescopio con l'apertura più grande del mondo, doppia del secondo più grande (l'Osservatorio di Arecibo a Puerto Rico).
Situato nel sudovest della Cina, in una regione remota, dovrebbe essere ufficialmente inaugurato il prossimo mese, ed essere poi aperto a scienziati di tutto il mondo...

Five hundred meters in diameter, five years to build it, more than 100 pulsars detected during the testing phase... this is FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope), the radio telescope with the largest opening in the world, twice the second largest (the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico).
Located in southwestern China, in a remote region, it should be officially opened next month, and then be accessible to scientists from around the world...
