Analysing the DNA extracted from the jawbone of a Neanderthal man, found in Belgium, which dates back to about 120,000 years ago, a group of scientists discovered that this DNA is much more similar to those dated 50,000 years ago, than to that of their contemporary specimens, found in other areas of the Earth.
