2.500 anni fa le popolazioni che vivevano sulle montagne del Pamir, in Asia centrale, già utilizzavano le proprietà psicoattive della cannabis, pure se per motivi religiosi; infatti dentro una decina di bruciatori di incenso funerari trovati in tombe scoperte in un sito archeologico nella regione sono state rilevate tracce di THC (tetraidrocannabinolo), la componente attiva della cannabis.
Probabilmente veniva usata per comunicare con gli dei, o con i morti...

2,500 years ago the populations that lived in the Pamir mountains, in Central Asia, already used the psychoactive properties of cannabis, even if for religious reasons; in fact, traces of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the active component of cannabis, have been detected in a few funerary incense burners found in tombs discovered in an archaeological site in the region.
It was probably used to communicate with the gods, or with the dead...
