"The Atomic Soldiers (i soldati atomici)" è il titolo di un documentario sui veterani americani che hanno assistito alle esplosioni atomiche. Tra il 1946 e il 1962 gli Stati Uniti condussero più di 1.000 test facendo esplodere testate atomiche sul loro territorio; a questi test assistettero più di 400.000 soldati americani, molto spesso a distanze di soli 1,5-3 km dall'epicentro dell'esplosione e senza nessuna protezione, o con protezioni ridicole...
Questi soldati furono poi legati da un vincolo di segretezza, ma ora possono raccontare la loro storia e le loro - traumatiche - esperienze. Molti soldati si ammalarono, subito o in seguito, a causa dell'esposizione alle radiazioni ionizzanti: vittime degli esperimenti condotti dal loro stesso paese...

These soldiers were then sworn to an oath of secrecy, but now they can tell their story and their - traumatic - experiences. Many soldiers fell ill, immediately or later, due to exposure to ionizing radiation: victims of experiments conducted by their own country...
