La NASA ha disegnato DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) per provare a rispondere: verrà lanciato nell'estate del 2021 con lo scopo di raggiungere Didymos, un sistema binario di asteroidi, e colpire Didymos B, un piccolo satellite che orbita un corpo più grosso, Didymos A.

What would happen if an asteroid will aim at Earth? Several science fiction films have shown us different possible solutions, but would they work in reality? NASA has designed DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) to try to answer: it will be launched in the summer of 2021 with the aim of reaching Didymos, a binary asteroid system, and hitting Didymos B, a small satellite that orbits a larger body, Didymos A.
The impact will be studied to understand if it could be a possible solution to a much more dramatic scenario: an asteroid directed toward the Earth...
