C'è acqua sulla Luna? Ebbene sì, poca, ma c'è (nello strato più idratato da 200 a 500 parti per milione - molto più secco del punto più arido della Terra...). E a volte evapora anche dalla tenue atmosfera: quando meteoroidi colpiscono il nostro satellite, se penetrano almeno 8 centimetri - ne basta uno con un diametro di 5 millimetri, causano il rilascio di vapore acqueo nell'atmosfera. Buona parte di questo "scappa" e si perde nello spazio; una parte viene poi recuperata nelle "trappole fredde" sotto forma di ghiaccio e una parte si riforma grazie all'impatto del vento solare, ma il bilancio è comunque negativo...

And sometimes it also evaporates from the faint atmosphere: when meteoroids hit our satellite if they penetrate at least 8 centimetres - one with a diameter of 5 millimetres is enough, they cause the release of water vapour into the atmosphere. Most of it "escapes" and is lost in space; a part is then recovered in the "cold traps" in the form of ice and a part is formed anew thanks to the impact of the solar wind, but the balance is still negative...
