Blasting an Asteroid

Dopo aver sparato all'asteroide Ryugu un proiettile, ora il veicolo spaziale giapponese Hayabusa2 lo ha addirittura bombardato con un missile di rame da 2 kg, "sparato" da un piccolo satellite ad una velocità di 2.000 metri al secondo... lo scopo è di creare un cratere sull'asteroide, per poter accedere agli strati più profondi, non intaccati dalla lunga esposizione allo spaio vuoto.
Cosa ci dirà questo materiale? Per saperlo dovremo aspettare finché Hayabusa2 tornerà sulla Terra, nel 2020, ed il materiale raccolto potrà essere analizzato...

After firing a bullet at the Ryugu asteroid, the Japanese spacecraft Hayabusa2 has now bombed it with a 2 kg copper missile, "fired" from a small satellite at a speed of 2,000 meters per second... the purpose is to create a crater on the asteroid, to gain access to the deeper layers, not affected by the long exposure to the empty space.
What will this material tell us? To know it we will have to wait until Hayabusa2 returns to Earth, in 2020, and the collected material can be analyzed...
