Sviluppata dalla SpaceX di Elon Musk, la navicella ha compiuto una manovra di attracco completamente automatizzata. Durante questa missione, denominata Demo-1, ha portato sulla ISS circa 180 kg di forniture, oltre a Ripley, un astronauta manichino dotato di una serie di sensori per verificare gli effetti del viaggio su futuri astronauti umani... sì, perché se anche la seconda missione senza persone a bordo avrà successo, ad aprile, giù da luglio gli astronauti americani potrenno utilizzare questo mezzo per recarsi sulla ISS, invece della Soyuz russa...
A few hours ago, at 5:51 am.m. EST, the first commercial private spacecraft, the SpaceX Crew Dragon, has "docked" to ISS.
Developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX, the spacecraft completed a fully automated docking manoeuvre. During this mission, named Demo-1, it brought about 400 pounds of supplies on the ISS, as well as Ripley, a mannequin astronaut equipped with a series of sensors to verify the effects of the trip on future human astronauts... yes, because if also the second mission without people on board will be successful, in April; then in July the American astronauts could use this vehicle instead of the Russian Soyuz to go to the ISS...
