Oggi, domenica 16 dicembre, la cometa 46P/Wirtanen effettuerà uno dei 10 passaggi cometari più vicini alla Terra in 70 anni, trovandosi a soli 11.4 milioni di chilometri dal nostro pianeta: sarà visibile ad occhio nudo (sempre che il cielo sia sgombro...)!
Non è stata così vicina per centinaia di anni e non lo sarà più per centinaia di anni.
Sarà questa la cometa seguita dai Magi?
Today, Sunday, December 16, the comet 46P/Wirtanen will make out one of the 10 cometary passes closest to Earth in 70 years, being only 7.1 million miles from our planet: it will be visible to the naked eye (provided the sky is clear...)!
It has not been so close for hundreds of years and it will not be for hundreds of years.
Will this be the comet followed by the Magi?
