Per la prima volta il suono del vento marziano è stato registrato: il lander InSight ha utilizzato due strumenti, un sensore di pressione dell'aria e un sismografo, per captare vibrazioni nell'aria e trasformarle in un suono. Il primo suono registrato, seppur indirettamente, su Marte.
Per avere una registrazione di suono con un microfono bisognerà aspettare fino al 2020, quando il rover Mars 2020 atterrerà sul pianeta...
Comunque il vento soffiava a circa 5-7 metri al secondo...
For the first time ever the sound of the Martian wind was recorded: the InSight lander used two instruments, an air pressure sensor and a seismometer, to pick up vibrations in the air and turn them into a sound. The first sound recorded, albeit indirectly, on Mars.
To have a sound recording with a microphone we will have to wait until 2020 when the Mars 2020 rover will land on the planet...
By the way, the wind blew at about 10 to 15 mph...
