New Constellations

Da dieci anni il telescopio spaziale a raggi gamma Fermi esplora il cielo vedendo cose che noi umani... non potremmo vedere con altri strumenti: pulsar, residui di esplosioni di supernove, buchi neri supermassivi...
Per festeggiare questo anniversario gli scienziati che seguono il progetto alla NASA hanno identificato una serie di nuove costellazioni sfruttando gli oggetti che emettono raggi gamma: hanno così individuato Einstein, la nave spaziale Enterprise, il Colosseo, il Golden Gate e persino il gatto di Schrödinger e l'incredibile Hulk! Quest'ultimo sicuramente a proposito, perché Hulk fu creato da un'esposizione di Bruce Banner ai raggi gamma...

Since ten years the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope explores the sky looking for things that we humans... could not see with other instruments: pulsars, debris of supernova explosions, supermassive black holes...
To celebrate this anniversary, scientists who follow the project at NASA have identified a series of new constellations using gamma-ray emitting objects: they identified Einstein, the spaceship Enterprise, the Colosseum, the Golden Gate and even Schrödinger's cat and the incredible Hulk! The latter definitely correct, because Hulk was created by an exposure of Bruce Banner to gamma rays...
