Un paleontologo del Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago ha messo a punto un metodo per costruire dei fossili: sottoponendo dei campioni racchiusi in argilla ad alta pressione e temperatura (oltre 1.500 kg a 250° per 24 ore, corrispondenti ad un fossile sepolto a 0,8 km di profondità per decine di milioni di anni) sta studiando come fossilizzano i tessuti molli e le piume.
Utilizzando questo sistema spera di capire di più dei veri fossili, e magari risalire anche a dati impensabili, come per esempio i colori dei dinosauri...
A paleontologist from the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago developed a method to build fossils: subjecting samples enclosed in clay at high pressure and temperature (3,500 pounds at 250 ° for 24 hours, corresponding to a fossil buried 0.8 km underground for tens of millions of years) he's studying how soft tissue and feathers fossilize.
Using this system he hopes to understand more of the real fossils, and maybe even discover unthinkable data, such as the colours of the dinosaurs...
