Per questo motivo hanno cominciato ad utilizzare la Terra come modello: più precisamente immagini riprese da EPIC (Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera), una fotocamera a bordo di un satellite che orbita a circa 1,6 milioni di km dalla Terra, che mostrano il nostro pianeta come un solo pixel. Analizzando tali immagini e mettendole in relazione con gli stati del pianeta in corrispondenza con gli scatti, si riescono a confermare alcuni dati, come per esempio il tempo di rotazione, ricavati dalle immagini stesse...
