A Different Memory

I nostri ricordi sono immagazzinati nel cervello come engrammi, ragnatele che collegano diversi punti del cervello che costituiscono il ricordo stesso, legate ai diversi sensi.
Ora un gruppo di scienziati dell'università di Bostom sta studiando la possibilità di modificare i ricordi, o di rimuoverli, operando su topi. Chissà che un giorno molto lontano non si possa fare anche sull'uomo, aiutando persone che hanno subito traumi a dimenticarli per poter vivere una vita più normale... O forse anche per altro...
Ma anche se un giorno fosse possibile alterare la memoria umana, dovremmo farlo?

Our memories are stocked in our brains as engrams, webs connecting different spots of the brain and making up the memory itself, linked to the different senses.
Now a team of scientists from the Boston University is developing the possibility to modify memories, or to remove them, working with mice. Who knows that one day very far away it could not be done on man, too, helping people who have suffered traumas to forget them in order to live a better life... Or maybe even for other purposes...
But even if one day it will be possible to alter human memory, shall we do it?
