Superionic Ice

Il ghiaccio superionico, una nuova forma di acqua, era stato teorizzato alcuni anni fa: si tratta di una via di mezzo tra un solido e un liquido, in cui l'ossigeno forma un reticolo cristallino solido entro cui scorrono ioni di idrogeno.
Ora un team di ricercatori dell'Università di Berkeley, in California, è riuscito a produrlo, comprimendo l'acqua tra due diamanti e poi colpendola con un raggio laser...
Si pensa che un'acqua di questo tipo possa esistere su Nettuno e Urano, e possa spiegare lo strano campo magnetico là trovato...
