Amplifying and Sequencing DNA in Space

Dopo poco più di un anno dal primo sequenzimento di DNA nello spazio, ora sulla ISS è stata effettuata la prima amplificazione di DNA seguita da sequenziamento, per identificare ceppi batterici raccolti e cresciuti sulla stazione stessa.
L'esperimento è andato magnificamente e tutti i campioni identificati sono stati confermati dalla ripetizione dell'esperimento sulla Terra, non appena i campioni inviati dallo spazio hanno raggiunto il laboratorio di controllo della NASA!

After just over one year since the first DNA sequencing in space, now the first DNA amplification followed by sequencing was performed on the ISS to identify bacterial strains collected and grown on the station itself.
The experiment went beautifully and all the samples identified were confirmed by the repetition of the experiment on Earth, as soon as the samples sent from space reached the control laboratory of NASA!
