Eating for Ten Years

Un buco nero supermassivo ha catturato una stella e se ne è cibato per più di dieci anni... questa è quanto si evince dalle immagini dell'osservatorio a raggi X Chandra, dei satelliti Swift e dell'XMM-Newton dell'ESA, che seguono il fenomeno dal 2005.
Da queste osservazioni sembra che i buchi neri supermassivi possano crescere a velocità ritenute finora non raggiungibili e potrebbe spiegare l'osservazione di alcuni buchi neri supermassivi che si sono formati in tempi estremamente brevi (sulla scala dell'universo...).
Ora inizierà la digestione, per la prossima decade :-)

A supermassive black hole captured a star and then fed on it for more than 10 years... This is what can be inferred from the images obtained by Chandra X-ray Observatory, Swift satellites and ESA's XMM-Newton, which analyse the phenomenon since 2005.
From these observations it seems that supermassive blacks holes can grow at speeds so far considered unreachable and could explain the observation of some supermassive blacks holes that formed in extremely short times (on the scale of the universe ...).
Now the digestion will begin, for the next decade :-)
