« Tanto tempo fa, in una galassia lontana lontana... » così cominciano i film della saga di Guerre Stellari, ma lontano è un termine relativo... infatti gli scienziati della NASA definiscono "relativamente vicina" a noi la galassia NGC 4789A, nella costellazione della Chioma di Berenice, che dista 14 milioni di anni luce... vicina abbastanza perché Hubble possa ricavare un'immagine ben distinta di questa galassia irregolare, con le stelle sparse in giro senza un'ordine apparente...
« A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... » this is the incipit used by all movies of the Star Wars saga, but far is a relative term... In fact NASA scientist define as "relatively close" to us galaxy NGC 4789A, in the Coma Berenices constellation, which is 14 million light years away... close enough that Hubble can get a distinct image of this irregular galaxy, where the stars stand scattered around without an apparent order...
