Le Perseidi, meteore formate dai residui della cometa Swift-Tuttle, incontrano la Terra tutti gli anni, nel periodo tra la fine di luglio e la metà di agosto. La loro maggiore concentrazione si ha nei giorni tra il 10 e il 12 agosto, quando appaiono nel cielo notturno, a nord est, sotto forma di scie luminose - quelle comunemente dette stelle cadenti.
Quest'anno dovrebbe esserci una grande abbondanza di stelle cadenti, che potrebbero arrivare fino a 200 per ora nelle notti di picco...
Bisogna però uscire dalle città e dall'inquinamento luminoso per vederle...

The Perseids, meteora formed by residues of the Swift-Tuttle comet, encounter the Earth every year, in the period between late July and mid-August. Their greatest concentration is visible in the days between 10 and 12 August, when they appear in the night sky, northeast, in the form of light trails - those commonly called falling stars.
This year there should be a great abundance of falling stars, which could reach up to 200 per hour in peak nights...
But we must get out of the city and away from light pollution to see them...
