Brexit

Il 23 giugno il Regno Unito voterà il referendum Brexit, per decidere se rimanere o no in Europa.

Premesso che io credo che l'Europa debba essere più di un'espressione geografica, e che se uno stato decide di farne parte deve avere gli stessi diritti e doveri degli altri, penso che la scelta spetti unicamente a loro, ma che se rimangono, come dicevo, debbano avere gli stessi diritti e doveri degli altri.

C'è però un altro punto importante: il Regno Unito è una confederazione di 4 stati: Inghilterra, Scozia, Galles e Irlanda del Nord. E se l'Inghilterra vota sì, visto il numero di abitanti, il sì vince... ma la Scozia ha già annunciato che potrebbe rimettere in marcia il referendum per l'indipendenza, e l'Irlanda del Nord potrebbe anch'essa essere percorsa da correnti indipendentiste...

Avremo mezzo Regno Unito dentro e mezzo fuori? Tra poche ore ne sapremo di più...

On June 23rd the United Kingdom will vote on Brexit referendum to decide whether to stay in Europe or not.

Whereas I believe that Europe must be more than a geographical expression, and that if a state decides to be part of it must have the same rights and obligations as the other, I think the choice is up to them alone, but if they remain, as I said, they should have the same rights and obligations as the other.

There is also another important point: the UK is a confederation of four states: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. And if England votes yes, given the number of inhabitants, the yes wins... but Scotland has already announced that it would restart the referendum for independence, and Northern Ireland could also be shaken by separatist currents...

Will we have a half UK in and half UK out? In a few hours we will know more...
