Poisoning Cancer

Un nuovo sistema per uccidere cellule tumorali e metastatiche con nanosfere piene di un agente chemioterapico è stato messo a punto da un gruppo dello "Houston Methodist Research Institute" in Texas. In breve, si sfrutta la vascolarizzazione disordinata dei tumori per fare arrivare le nanosfere in loco, e si polimerizzano le molecole di agente chemioterapico per far sì che siano più efficienti contro le cellule tumorali. A new system to kill cancer and metastatic cells with nanospheres filled with a chemotherapeutic agent has been developed by a group from "Houston Methodist Research Institute" in Texas. In short, it exploits the malformed vascularization of tumors to get the nanospheres on site, and uses polymerized chemotherapeutic agent molecules to ensure that they are more effective against the cancer cells. More details here.
