Challenger, Thirty Years Later...

Trenta anni fa, il 28 gennaio 1986, lo shuttle Challenger esplodeva in volo, portandosi via sette vite. Era la prima volta che tra i membri dell'equipaggio c'era un civile, una maestra elementare.
Non era il primo incidente nella storia della NASA (Houston, abbiamo un problema!), ma non ne ricordo di così gravi; inoltre la copertura mediatica ne ha amplificato la diffusione.
Ricordo lo shuttle che saliva, poi l'esplosione e poi... niente.
La NASA ha creato il "Giorno del ricordo", il 28 gennaio, per ricordare loro, e tutti gli altri.

Thirty years ago, on Jan. 28, 1986, the shuttle Challenger exploded just after launch, taking away seven lives. It was the first time that among the crew there was a civilian, a primary school teacher.
It was not the first incident in the history of NASA (Houston, we have a problem!), but I do not remember another so serious; furthermore, the media coverage amplified the diffusion.
I remember the shuttle going up, then the explosion and then... nothing.
NASA created the "Day of Remembrance", on January 28, to remind them, and everyone else.
