La IATA (International Air Transport Association), un'associazione internazionale di compagnie aeree, vorrebbe diminuire la dimensione ammessa del bagaglio a mano del 20% circa (dagli attuali 55x35x22 cm - più o meno - a 54x34x19). Sembra poco, ma, oltre a rappresentare una significativa diminuzione del volume, costringerebbe milioni di persone a comprare nuovo bagaglio da cabina ed eliminare quello attuale, oltre a rendere più difficile riuscire a portare vestiti sufficienti per 2 o 3 giorni senza imbarcare una valigia.
Il problema maggiore per me non sarebbe tanto che molte compagnie aeree fanno pagare le valigie da stiva, che comunque già di per sé incrementerebbe le loro entrate considerevolmente, ma i tempi di attesa dei bagagli all'arrivo, da perderci la pazienza, specialmente a Malpensa...
The IATA (International Air Transport Association), an international association of airlines, would like to reduce of about 20% the maximum size of the cabin luggage (from the current 22x14x9 in - more or less - to 21.5x13.5x7.5 in). It seems a minor change, but, in addition to representing a significant decrease in volume, it will force millions of people to buy a new cabin luggage and throw away the current one, and it will make more difficult to carry enough clothes for 2-3 days without boarding a hold luggage.
To me the biggest problem is not the fact that many airlines require a fee for each hold luggage, that in itself will increase considerably their income, but the time lost waiting for the luggage at arrival, enough to lose patience, particularly in Malpensa...
