DADSS

L'acronimo sta per "Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety" (all'incirca Sistema di Rilevamento Alcol del Guidatore per la Sicurezza) è indica uno, o meglio due, sistemi in fase di studio per impedire all'auto di partire se il guidatore ha bevuto troppo.
Il primo rileva il grado alcolico nel fiato, anche senza soffiarci dentro, mentre l'altro è un sensore al tocco integrato nel pulsante di accensione o nelle marce che rileva il livello alcolico del sangue (BAC - Blood Alcohol Content).
In entrambi i casi, se viene rilevato un tasso al di sopra i limiti di legge, l'auto non parte. E, forse, si salvano una o più vite...

The acronym stands for "Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety" and it indicates one, or better two, systems under study to prevent the car from starting if the driver drunk too much.
The first one detects the alcohol level in the breath, even without blowing in, while the other is a touch sensor integrated in the start button or in a gear shift that detects the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).
In both cases, if the detected alcohol level is above the legal limit, the car doesn't start. And, maybe, one of more lives could be saved...
