Ora un gruppo di ricercatori della Brown University, negli Stati Uniti, ha scoperto che il blocco del gene in maniera definitiva, in organismi sani, provoca un allungamento della vita del 15%, diminuendo nel contempo i segni dell'età, come osteoporosi, difficoltà cognitive o diminuzione del metabolismo, ed aumentando la salute del sistema immunitario.
La ricerca è stata fatta sui topi, ma trasferendola agli esseri umani significherebbe circa 12 anni in più di vita...

Now a group of researchers from Brown University, in the United States, discovered that locking the gene definitively, in healthy organisms, produces an increase of the life span of 15%, decreasing at the same time age related conditions, such as osteoporosis, cognitive impairment or lower metabolism, and increasing the health of the immune system.
The research was done on mice, but transfering the results to human being it will mean 12 years more of life...
