La falena Actias luna è molto elegante e presenta una lunga coda quasi da frac... ma, sorpresa, questa coda ha una funzione molto importante: un gruppo di ricercatori di diverse università americane ha scoperto che è molto utile per ingannare i... pipistrelli.
Infatti la coda riesce a confondere il sonar dei pipistrelli, che attaccano la coda invece del corpo della farfalla, che così la scampa :-)

The moth Actias luna is really elegant and has a long tail like a white tie... but, surprise, this tail has got an important function: a group of researches from different US universities discovered that it is very useful to deceive the... bats.
In fact the tail is able to confuse the bats' sonar, so they attack the tail instead of the body of the butterfly, that survives :-)
