Ten Tons of Bones

Un gruppo di Utahraptor, cugini maggiori dei velociraptor, trovati più di 10 anni fa è stato recentemente spostato, insieme alle 10 tonnellate di roccia che hanno intorno, dalla cima di una collina nello Utah, per permettere uno studio adeguato in un laboratorio attrezzato.
Ma perché un blocco così grosso? Perché ogni volta che si cercava di staccarne una parte, saltava fuori un osso che lo impediva... Tanti "corpi" intrecciati insieme, o perché un gruppo di animali si è ritrovato in un banco di sabbie mobili, o perché diversi animali, morendo in tempi diversi, si sono posizionati nel medesimo posto...

A group of Utahraptors, a tiger cousin of the  velociraptors, found more than 10 years ago was recently moved, together with the 10 tons of rocks that they have around them, from the top of a hill in Utah, to allow a proper study in a real lab.
But why a block so big? Because every time they tried to cut it in, a new bone appeared to block the operation... Different bodies mixed together, either because a group of animals felt together in a large blob of sandstone, or because different animals came to die in the same place, although dying in different moments...
