Lunedì prossimo l'asteroide 2004 BL86 passerà vicinissimo alla Terra... in termini astronomici. Infatti transiterà a una distanza pari a circa tre volte quella della luna.
Pericolo? No, ma l'asteroide è molto grosso, circa mezzo chilometro di diametro, e per questo ha meritato attenzione da parte degli astronomi. Il prossimo simile passerà solo nel 2027.
Questo sarà visibile anche con un telescopio amatoriale o un binocolo...
Next Monday asteroid 2004 BL86 will pass very near to the Earth... in astronomical terms. In fact it will pass at a distance of around three times that of the Moon.
Danger? No, but the asteroid is quite big, around a third of a mile in diameter, and for this reason it caught the attention of the astronomers. The next one somehow similar will transit only in 2027.
This one will be visible even with an amateur telescope or a binocular...
