Un pianeta grande circa sette volte la terra è stato scoperto nel sistema della stella nana HD 40307, a circa 42 anni luce dalla Terra.
Questo pianeta, il sesto del sistema, chiamato HD 40307g, si trova nella zona abitabile ovvero la regione di un sistema planetario dove può esistere acqua liquida sulla superficie del pianeta; inoltre ha una velocità di rotazione tale da far presupporre l'esistenza di un'alternanza giorno notte.
Insomma, potrebbe essere un pianeta abitabile... se non fosse così lontano...

A planet around seven times bigger than the Earth, has been discovered in dwarf star HD 40307 system, at about 42 light years from Earth.
The planet, the sixth of the system, named HD 40307g, is located in the habitable zone, that is the region in a planetary system where liquid water can exist on the surface of a planet; additionally, the planet has a rotating speed allowing the existence of an alternation of day and night.
In conclusion, it could be a habitable planet... if only it wasn't so far away...
