I residui del pasto di un buco nero, i resti di una stella inghiottita lo scorso anno, ci aiutano a definire la dimensione del buco nero stesso. La valutazione è che pesi da 450.000 a 5 milioni di volte il sole, cioè una misura simile al buco nero che sta al centro della via Lattea... ma questo è lontano 3,9 miliardi di anni luce (cioè ciò che vediamo ora è avvenuto 3,9 miliardi di anni fa...)
The residual of a black hole's meal, the remnants of a star swallowed last year, helps us to define the size of the black hole itself. The astronomers evaluate that the weight is between 450,000 and 5 million times that of the Sun, similar to the black hole sitting in the center of the Milky Way... but this is 3.9 billion light-years away (i.e. what we see now happened 3.9 billion of years ago...)
